The annual Benefit Gala raises funds to bring innovative artistic creation to Utah, SALT's core mandate. The event features installation performances by SALT dancers, live music and a draw for prestigious prizes. Everyone in attendance has the opportunity to rub shoulders with 2016-17 SALT choreographers and dancers.

Over the last 100 years, this historic building has served as headquarters for Ladies Literacy Club as well as countless charitable and educational efforts. The ‘Ladies’ helped create the first free public library, establish the first free kindergarten, and fund scholarships at the University of Utah. In 1977, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was also made part of the South Temple Historic District by Salt Lake City’s Historic Landmarks Commission.
